Dear Members of Istanbul Technical University,
The SpringerLink, now Springer Nature, Database Agreement, which we are subscribed to,
has been converted to the "Read & Publish" model to cover the period 2024-2026 within the EKUAL (Electronic Resources National Academic License) Project carried out by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM.
ITU Library and Documentation Department is a permanent participant in this transformative agreement within the scope of EKUAL.
Under the agreement, open access (OA) support will be provided for "Original Article", "Review Article" and "Continuing Education" type publications in Q1 and Q2 Group Springer Nature Hybrid Journals in Web of Science (SCI, SSCI, AHCI).
With this agreement, authors of our university will have the right to publish their articles OA and article processing charges will be covered by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM.
The agreement has become active as of January 01, 2024. The applications of the authors will be evaluated within the scope of the agreement as of this date.
There is an annual quota for publishing AE articles under the agreement. However, according to the terms of the agreement, there will be no "AE article quota allocation" for institutions. The publication of the corresponding author whose article is accepted in the journals mentioned above will be processed according to the order of arrival of the publication, if the author requests AE publication, and if there is sufficient quota, TÜBİTAK ULAKBIM will approve the AE publication of the articles that meet the criteria.
What Authors Need to Know: - In order to benefit from the support, it will be sufficient for the applicant to be the corresponding author of the article and to mention the name of the institution under his/her name in the publication.
- It is important to use institutional e-mails when applying for an article in order for AE approval processes to run smoothly.
- The list of journals (valid between 01.01.2024 - 31.12.2024) for AE article publication support is attached. The Q1/Q2 journal list will be valid until 31.12.2025.
